From entertaining the public as a commercial radio personality, to senior management roles in broadcasting, telecommunications and training services, to business owner, to performing as a professional actor - I have been very fortunate to have experienced a diverse and very interesting career.
I have found that this broad commercial experience is a big advantage when coaching executives, many of whom, may present with a wide range of workplace issues.
The combination of corporate and performing experience also enables me to provide presentation and communication skills coaching using a combination of business, broadcasting and acting techniques in a one-on-one coaching environment. For more details go to PRESENTATION SKILLS.
Having owned, managed and sold a successful telecommunications business I am very familiar with issues typical to small to medium sized enterprises and as an experienced former senior executive, accustomed to focusing on the bottom line, I believe firmly in a return-on-investment for the coaching dollar.
Having said that, in coaching, experience should not be used in a prescriptive manner rather the opposite. The coach’s personal experience simply sits in the background, pushing the questions deeper, holding the silence to allow for additional insight, providing the natural courage to challenge so that the person being coached will inevitably arrive to their own conclusion.
